Samia Belyazid

Samia Belyazid is our Honorary President at Idmaj Association. Samia has taught for thirty years at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (FLSHR) at Mohamed V University, as well as in other places including The American Language Center, the UNICEF as well as The Royal Air Maroc (RAM). Samia earned several grants for study abroad including the Fulbright.  She obtained two MA degrees ; the first one in English literature, translation and English for specific purposes (ESP) from the university of Angers, France (1981). Then, she got a MATESL from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (1996). While in France, Samia earned two assistantships in London to teach French in high schools and be immersed in the British culture and language. During her teaching career, Samia designed and taught TEFL, ESP, Cultural Diversity, and Cross Cultural Communincation courses both in Casablanca and Rabat. She also presented in several conferences in Morocco and the USA and published several papers in Applied Linguistics, TEFL, the University Reform and the students as well as Women and violence in Morocco. Throughout her career, Samia has been affiliated to several NGOs including the UNICEF, MATE (The Moroccan Association of Teachers of English), the UAF (L’Union de l’Action Féminine), and the MFAA (The Moroccan Fulbright Allumni Association.
