Stephanie Willman Bordat

Stephanie Willman Bordat is a Founding Partner at the INGO MRA Mobilising for Rights Associates, where she works to promote women’s legal and human rights across the Maghreb.  She has lived in Morocco for more than 20 years as an international human rights lawyer, NGO activist, and consultant.

Stephanie has been very active in and enthusiastic about overseas exchange programs for decades, in multiple capacities.  She was an exchange student herself in both high school and university, has served as a professor for university level exchange students in Morocco, and most recently is the mother of a study abroad exchange program participant.  One of her favourite areas of expertise is intercultural relations, communications and competency.

Stephanie has previously lived and worked with women’s rights NGOs in France, Spain, England, the Netherlands, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Yemen and Afghanistan.    She was a Fulbright Fellow at the Mohammed V University Law School in Rabat, has a J.D. with honors from Columbia University Law School, and a Maîtrise en droit with honors from the Paris I-Sorbonne law school.  She also completed university studies at the University of Grenoble, France and the Instituto Internacional in Madrid, Spain.  She speaks English, French, the Moroccan dialect of Arabic, and Spanish.
